Tower Of Power Played On Dozens Of Records By Other Artists

We're huge fans of Tower of Power here at Gooseneck HQ. They've been a big influence on our music, especially the horn arrangements.

Tower Of Power has put out some truly great records under their name. But did you know how many records by other artists the TOP horn section played on? Literally hundreds -- adding their brassy sass to tracks by Little Feat in the '70s, Huey Lewis in the '80s, Elton John in the '90s and Aerosmith in the 2000s.

Our favorite TOP appearance has to be on Little Feat's Waiting For Columbus record from 1978. From start to finish it's a brilliant record, captured live, and it showcases both the Feat and TOP in all their horny glory.

Take one listen to "Spanish Moon" and you will be guaranteed goose bumps. The sound of those horns over that swampy groove will transport you to the place "where hookers and hustlers filled up the room."

And if you're a Huey Lewis and the News fan, then you already know TOP was a key ingredient in their sound and success. They had that string of hits in the '80s that featured horns on tracks like "Heart of Rock 'N' Roll" and "I Want a New Drug."

If you want to see all the records they played on, check out this link to the TOP Horns discography.
